The Sands of Delmaria
The Delmarian climate ranges from both extremes. During the day adventurers are exposed to extreme heat and by night they face extreme cold.
Whenever the temperature is at or below 0 degrees Fahrenheit, a creature exposed to the cold must succeed on a DC 10 Constitution saving throw at the end of each
hour or gain one level of exhaustion. Creatures with resistance or immunity to cold damage automatically succeed on the saving throw , as do creatures wearing
cold weather gear (thick coats, gloves, and the like) and creatures naturally adapted to cold climates.
When the temperature is at or above 100 degrees Fahrenheit , a creature exposed to the heat and without access to drinkable water must succeed on a Constitution saving throw at the end of each hour or gain one level of exhaustion. The DC is 5 for the
first hour and increases by 1 for each additional hour. Creatures wearing metal armour, or who are clad in heavy clothing, have disadvantage on the saving throw. Creatures with resistance or immunity to fire damage automatically succeed on the saving throw, as do creatures naturally adapted to hot climates.
Food and Water
While adventuring In the extreme climate, small and medium creatures require 1 pound of food and 2 gallons of water per day.
Drinking Water (Gallon/4 quartz/8 pints) = 1gp, 8lbs
Rations (lb) = 2sp, 1lb
Foraging: in the harsh desert climate, finding food and water is difficult. Unless otherwise specified it is a DC20 Wisdom (Survival Check) to forage. On a success, the character finds 1d6+wis mod lbs of food and 1d6+wis mod gallons of water.
It is a DC10 Wisdom (Survival) Check to slaughter defeated monsters for food rations. Each check takes an hour and produces 1d6+wis mod lbs of food.
Distillation Kits: Desert travelers use distillation kits to extract water from waste, toxic fluids or the very air itself. The device “cooks” moisture from the materials and collects it in a reservoir. Using a distillation kit for 6 hours produces 2 gallons of water.
Distillation Kit = 50gp, 20lbs
